1. Explain the Red Scare and its development.
2. Describe the state of labor workers and their difficulties during the 1920s.
3. Discuss the presidential election of Warren Harding, his policies, and his scandal.
4. Compare and contrast the changes in work in automobiles, farming, and other industries during the Roaring
Twenties.
5. List some of the innovations created for the home and transportation and how they affected peoples’ lives.
6. Describe the changes in business practices and how they helped to fuel an economic explosion in the United
States during the 1920s.
7. Summarize the social tensions found between American citizens and immigrants, as well as racial discrimination.
8. Give examples of the differing values and problems that developed as more people moved from rural to urban
communities.
9. Discuss the cultural changes in the American society during the 1920s.
10. Explain why Americans had more leisure time, how they made use of it, and how it affected women's roles.

2. Complete the following questions: 


1. List and explain the four underlying causes of World War I.

2. Describe the event that catapulted Europe into World War I.

3. Explain why World War I was also known as the "Modern War" and give examples of technological advances.

4. Discuss why the United States wanted to stay neutral and the reasons why it decided to join.

5. Describe how the checks and balance system kept the war from starting before it did.

6. Explain the roles women and African-Americans had in fighting the war.

7. Describe the efforts made by the War Industries Board to control the economy in preparation for war.

8. List and explain some of the efforts the general public could do to support the government and the United States while at war.

9. Discuss the process the military used in getting ships made and transported over to Europe safely.

10. Explain the battles the United States fought against Germany and their outcomes.

Thursday Night:  Due MONDAY!  
Read Chapter 19 in your textbook.  Complete the Reading Study Guides corresponding to each chapter.  You will receive the RSG's via email.  YOU are responsible for checking your own email, and printing the Reading Study Guides.

Thursday Night:
1. READ Chapter 18 Section 3, and Chapter 18 Section 4 in your textbook. 
2. Complete the Reading Study Guides for Sections 3 and 4.  
3. Take Notes on Slides 9-16 

Friday Night: 
Finish Taking Notes on the rest of the presentation
Complete the following reading on Imperialism .   It would be a really good idead to print out the reading, highlight it, and take notes on what you've highlighted.   After completing the reading, complete the question sheet.
