HW Assignments Week of 9/30/13

Hello, RUSH'ers:

Here are your assignments for the week of 9/30.  As we've previously stated, with regard to homework,

1.  It's assigned every night, even weekends!
2.  It's due by the next class day, unless it's specified otherwise.
3.  It must be signed by a parent in order for you to get credit.
4.  It must be completed in ink, on looseleaf paper, or can be computer printed.
5.  It is essential for your success in this class!

MONDAY NIGHT:  Complete any remaining parts of the station assignments that you haven't finished.  Please check your WJPS email for the assignment sheets.  You will choose the best eight pieces of work, that you feel best reflect your understanding of the topic.

With any internet-accessible device, you can now access your textbook online!  Complete your homework on the bus!  On the treadmill at the gym!  In the car, when you’re driving to grandma’s house for dinner!  

Here’s how to access your textbook online.  

1.  Click on the following link.  Once you click on the link, it is strongly advised that you bookmark this link in your internet browser.  


2.  Once you’ve accessed the link above, scroll down to the bottom of the page.  You will see a picture of the textbook, and its link.  Click on that link.

HW Assignments Week of 9/16/2013

Hello, All:

Below are your HW assignments for the week of 9/16.  Please note that unless stated otherwise, homework is assigned every night, and is due by the next class day.  In order to receive credit for HW, students must...

Monday Night - Finish the "What America Means to Me" project by TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 17th.

Wednesday Night -
1. Click here to access the US History and Government Regents Website.  .
2. Click on the link for the January 2010 US History Regents.  
3. Download, and PRINT the DBQ, which appears on pp. 11 to 20 of the exam.  Please note that you do not have to print the entire exam.  I am only asking you to print the DBQ.  

***IMPORTANT***

Keep the focus on the TASK you are trying to complete.  You are discussing how WATER...
1. Influenced the Political Development of the US 
2. Influenced the Economic Development of the US

When working on the task, keep these questions in mind...


How did water influence the exploration and settlement of the US? 

How did water lead to the expansion westward into the Pacific? 
How did water influence Agricultural (farming) and Industrial (machine/factories) development in the US? 
How did water influence migration patterns (where people moved)? 
What are some environmental concerns regarding water?  

After printing out the DBQ section, please complete any questions that we did not finish in class.

Thursday - Begin writing a FIRST DRAFT of your DBQ essay.   Your draft must consist of a minimum of FOUR paragraphs, including an introduction, and conclusion.

Friday- After revising your first draft, complete a second draft of your essay.

Monday 9/23 - Complete a FINAL DRAFT of your essay, to be handed in on TUESDAY 9/23.

Homework Assignments Week of Sept 9, 2013

Welcome to WJPS 2015-16!
I will be using this blog to post your assignments. Generally, I will post your assignments for the coming week on SUNDAY NIGHT.   It's up to you to decide how to budget your time.  You can complete your assignments day-to-day, or you can go ahead.  Many of my students like to finish their assignments early, so they have less to do over the week.
