The amendments were past to protect the rights of the American Citizens. The amendments expand the Constitutional rights of the people by letting the citizens now what rules and rights they have. The citizens wanted these rules written down, so everyone knew what they were given and no one could take them away. The citizens have many rights and can do what they want. They can bear arms (carry guns), freedom and speech, and press, and the right to not let soldiers stay in their homes. They also have many other rights. The most important amendment is freedom of speech because you are able to say what you want, when you want. The least important is the right to bare arms. To carry a gun you need a permit anyway. I think the consumption of alcohol is okay to a certain extent. If you want to have a drink go ahead, but there is no reason to get drunk. So I think that government should allow drinking.

These Ammednments were passed because The congress thought that they would make America a beter world. These Ammednments expand the Constutional rights of the people because There basically the same laws but there put in a different format of speech. The ammendments restrict the rights to citzens because America is a free country but they basically have laws that we have to follow. The Government should have not made an ammendment banning the consumtion of Achool because people are allowed to have a glass of achool with there dinner. The ammendments that are the most important to me is freedom of speech & freedom of religion because we get to follow in what we belive in. The other Ammendments are important also but these Ammendments are the one's that Mean the most to me .

b. How do these amendments expand the Constitutional rights of the people? these amendments expand the constitutional rights of the people by giving the governments people more rights thansolye there natural rights.

c. To what degree do these amendments restrict the rights of citizens? Yes, because in the 2nd amendment it says you have the right to bear arms which meant you had the right to own a hand gun. but some supreme court cases it states that the states can regulate certain gun you can own or "bears arms".

d. Which amendments are the most important, the least? Why? oneimportant amendment which explains that the Congress cannot make a law that stops the excersize of the freedom of speech and the of the press, etc.

e. Do you think that the government should have passed an amendment banning the consumption of alcohol? Explain why or why not? I think that it would have helped because then the states could control the deaths of entoxinated teenagers and adults in fatal deaths such as car accidents.

a. these amendments were passed because they are basic set of rights.
b. they tell us what we can and cant do and expands our rights because they don't specifically say everything its just the basic of it.
c. certain rights because the amendments will decide for us.
d. the least important amendments are the last 15 but the most important ones are the first 10 because they are the bill of rights.
e. i think that the government shouldn't have banned alcohol because some people like it and some may need it in their system also because people decide for themselves its not right for a government to tell you what you can and cant drink i think that he did right by putting a law in which you have to be 21 to drink.

A. These amendments were passed because they provide basic legal protection for individual rights.
B.These amendments expand the Constitutional rights of the people
C. These amendments restrict the rights of citizen a little bit. Some amendments may be unfair to some people and others may think it is helpful to the people.
D. I would say that the most important amendment is the first one. It gives us freedom and many people came to America in search for freedom.
E.I don't think that the government should have passed an amendment banning the consumption of alcohol. I think it should be like it is now. You should be a certain age to drink but they shouldn't ban it all.

These amendments were passed because they would make our country better for the people and not go crazy. These amendments expand the constitutional rights of the people by the people have the right to do anything they want according to laws. It restricts the rights to citizens by if they get a gun its for self defense and if they do something bad like kill someone they will be taken to jail. The amendments that are most important are the right to bear arms, presidential elections, and slavery. I think that they are the most important amendments because the right to bear arms is if you have a search warrant coming to your home and looking around for a reason. The presidential elections is important because everyone has the right to vote and voice there opinions. Slavery is important because nobody has the right make innocent people do things for no reason. They only have the right if the person did something bad and it's a punishment. No, I don't think the government should have banned the consumption of alcohol because if the person is responsible then he/she should drink. If not they should stay away.

a)These amendments were passed because as times kept changing we needed new laws to follow so they can fit with what was happening in the United States. The Constitution was good for the time it was written but when other problems came about the Constitution needed changes or additions.
b)The amendments expanded the rights of the people by giving them protection from punishment, citizenship, right to vote, fair trial, andprotect the rights that are not in the U.S Constitution.
c)The amendment restrics the rights of making them pay taxes every year, and having to serve on jury duty.
c)The amendments I thought were important are the 1st,2nd,19th,9 th,and 4th amendments. I choose them because having the freedom of speech, religon, assembly, and press. You can say or belive in whatever you want and nobody can't judge you. Having an army or navy gives America protection from any enimies attacking the U.S. Having other rights that are not in the U.S constitution should be used and protected even if people say its not important and the right that all people who have a different race or sex should have equal rights and treated with respect.
e)I think that the government should have passed an amendment banning alcohol because alcohol is bad for all people. If you keep drinking it constanly your body feels lightheaded and you can't concentrate very well and today lots of people drink because it is very addicting like smoking. They banned alcohol back then they should do it today also.

1.

In 1787 political leaders were concerned the concerned the constitution gave too much power to the federal government they insisted on adding specific protections for individual rights.

2.

People's life's and freedoms where more protected

3.

They really didn't restrict the rights of citizens

4.

I think the 2nd amendment is the most important because if the event of a war an a attack by another country the citizens should have the right to defend their home land and them selves. And the 1st I think is least for example during a time of war people could be against the fight.

5.

yes because with out alcohol many people would be alive now

1. These amendments were passed because people felt that they needed rights and freedoms.

2. These amendments expand the Constitutional rights of people by giving people more chances and freedoms.

3. These amendments can help people for something that they could have done wrong, but that's it.

4. One of the most important amendments is freedom of speech because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. One of the less important amendments is term limits for presidency because if they are doing a good job, they should keep going.

5. I think that the government should have passed an amendment banning the consumption of alcohol because it's not good for you, it's bad for your health, it could kill you, and you could drink and drive.

These amendments were passed in order to secure our unwriten rights. These amendments expand our rights, by giving us more rights than what was writen in the constitution. These rights have limits if you present a clear and danderous threat. For example, if you own a nuclear bomb, that is exeding the right to bear arms. The most important amendment is the first amendment, this is so because it gives us the rights to do what we do every day. The least important is the second amendment, I think this because wars don't often happen where we live anymore, so the chances of soldiers quartering in our homes are very unlikley. I don't think that it was right for the government to ban the consumption of alchohol. This is so because the people liked achlohol very much, and even if it might be the cause of crime and poverty, most of the people wasn't willing to give up.

a.The amendements were passed because people did not want to suffer like they did when the English ruled,so to ensure that everyone rights were protected the federalist made amendements.

b.They give people the rights to really express there selves and protect them against getting treated unfairly because of your race, gender, religon (etc.) basically.

c.Really no degree because all (or atleast most) amendements restrict people's rights from being violated.

d.Te third amendement in my opinon because it is not important as expressing yourself and not being penealized for your gender ,race etc.

e.No because the whole point is for people to express them selves, and its not nescessary because it's not as bad as drugs in my opinon and, you should not penalize all if some people have no self control of how much alcohol they drink.

These amendments were passed because it limited the power of the federal government and gave certain rights to the people.

These Amendmnets expand the Constsitional rights of thr people because these amendments contain rights that the government can not take away.

These amnednments restrict the rights of the citizens by goverment because they show the rights they citizens have. Aendmmenst need to go through a tough process so rights the people want must be approved in many ways.

I think the first, second, eighth, second, mand fourh are the most imortant because they include the freedom of speech and that listing the some rights it dosent mean that people do not have other rights.
I believe that thrid, tenth, and sixth are the least important but they are to some use.

I think the governemnt should have a certain limitations accoridng to alcohol. I think that there should be a limit to how much alcohol should be consumed in a country as a whole. I believ this because if more alcohol is consumed it culd be counted as a hazard.

Amendements were made to ensure the people's rights and protect their civil liberties. They were created also to prevent corruption and tyrrany. These amendments expand the rights of the people by granting them freedoms. They restrict the rights by having limits on what is and what is not constitutional. The most important amendments are 6-8 because they deal with fairness and equality; two factors our nation was built upon. i wouldnt say amendment three is the unimportant but it doesnt affect us at this time. No they shouldnt ban alcohol because they've tried that before with the prohibition act and it didnt work. But then again people always need a break, someway to kick back and relax. I bet it wouldnt be a sunday night for the guys with out a beer during the football game. As long as alcohol consumption is in moderation, it should not be banned.

a.These amendments were passed because they provide basic legal protection for individual rights.

b.These amendments expand the Constitutional rights of the people because its limits the rights of the Federal gov't giving more rights to the american people.

c.By law police can get a search warrant by a judge and with that search warrant they have the right to check our homes, cars, etc. Basically they gain the right to invade our privacy.

d.I feel the most important amendment is the first amendment which gives us freedom.I think this is the most important amendment because without freedom the gov't will control us and we cannot do anything about it.

e.No because as Americans we should have the right to drink whatever we want or do whatever we want as long as nobodys life is being put at risk.

A. These amendments were passed because in the beginning, the Constitution needed these rights in order to be approved. Although, we have also obtained these rights because we were in need of a more organized & controlled government as well.
B. These rights expand the Constitutional rights of the people because it doesn't make any individual live by the Constitution. Since the Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution, it gives people more freedom & limits them as well.
C. These amendments restrict some — is not many — citizens. We are effected by them everyday, too. For example, in the First Amendment, you are allowed to speak or publish anything you'd like as long as it is constitutional. When I say 'constitutional,' it means that the words are not harming anyone and all of the facts/information is completely true.
D. Some of the most important amendments are the first few. The first amendment allowed for free speech while the second approved of the right to bear arms. Another is the amendment on search warrants. These all are very important because they limit & provide the citizens with "guides" on what they can and cannot do.
E. I think that the government should have passed an amendment that only states where individuals can & can't be allowed to consume amounts of alcohol. I believe that it is the person's decision on how much they intend to drink and it is not up to us to meddle in their lives like that. On the other hand, I DO think that [like now], people should be limited to the areas where they can consume this alcohol. Places like your own home could be sufficient, but not public places like restaurants.

1. The first ten amendments were passed because they provide basic legal protection for individual rights. People were afraid that the government had too much power and that eventually things would be the same as it was under England’s rule. The amendments would then limit the power of the government.
2. The Constitution basically gave all the power to the government. With the addition of the amendments it gave some of the power to the people. The amendments gave and protected the rights of an individual. As time passed new amendments were added to meet the needs of the people and the changing times.
3. Even though the amendments give the people certain rights, they still must abide by the laws and not go overboard. For example we have the freedom to assemble and protest and we have the right to freedom of speech. This does not give us the right to start a riot or yell fire in a crowded arena. With these rights we still have limitations as to how far we can stretch these rights.
4. I feel that of the first 10 amendments the two most important amendments are the first and fourth amendments. I feel that freedom of speech, freedom of press and the right of the people peaceably to assemble is what makes this country what it is today. I feel I should be able to voice my opinion regardless of how other may feel. If I decide to write something or if I decide to protest against something that I believe is wrong and no one is getting hurt from my actions then it should be fine. Amendment 4 gives me the right to be secure in my home. No one should be able to violate my space without a court order. If I can not feel safe and secure in my own house, then where do I go. Having my own privacy is very important to me. Amendments 5-10 I feel is somewhat important and amendments 2& 3 the least important. Amendments 2 & 3 I feel was more appropriate in the days when we still have the militia. Today we are protected by law enforcement and the military. I don’t think this law pertains to individuals owning hand guns. This is not to say we can go out and buy a semi-automatic rifle or buy a nuclear weapon. The law does regulate and does have some checks and balances for people who are looking to buy handguns for the own personal purposes.
5. No I do not agree with the amendment banning the consumption of alcohol. I feel this way because of what happened in history after this ban. It actually created more problems with this ban. Illegal selling and producing of alcohol was widespread (bootlegging). Illegal money was being made by organized crime and opening of illegal parlors (speakeasies) were popping up everywhere. Many American citizens did not want to give up their alcohol so they disrespected the law and many felt that if they disrespected the prohibition laws what other laws will they disrespect next.

a) These amendments were passed because antifederalists felt that it was necessary to have a bill of rights protecting the rights of the people from the national government.
b) These amendments expand the constitutional rights of the people by giving them protection from laws being passed that can rule out these amendments.
c) These amendments restrict the rights of citizens when it comes to law enforcement.
d) In my opinion the most important amendments are the first and the fourth. The fist because it allows us to express our individuality and our concerns with our government. The fourth because it because it protects us from unreasonable searches.
e) I think that it was a bad idea for the government to write an amendment banning the consumption of alcohol because people will do it no matter what the law says, I also feel that it was a bad idea because the buying and consumption of alcohol helps the economy to grow.

The reason the Bill of Rights and the other 16 amendments were passes was to have legal protection for the people's rights. It ensured their rights and how the national government couldn't violate them unless under certain circumstances.

These amendments expand the Constitutional rights of the people because they were propsed by the people themselves and keep them protected from any wrongdoing government action.

These amendments can somewhat in a way restrict certain rights of the citizens. For example the 4th amendment is supposed to protect you from any unreasonable searches or seizures, but in times of war the police have the right to search your bags in the subway. Even if you are not carry anything harmful the police can search it for probable cause or because of the slight chance you may be a terriost.

The 1st Amendment is the most important amendment because it ensures the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. The national government cannot infringe on these rights. They government cannot establish a certain religion. As well Congress cannot pass and laws that prohibit from expressing our ideas, verbally or throught action and associations. Also people have the right to assemle to express their views on a contoversial issue, and the same with petioning. This is all made because of 1st Amendment.

The least important Amendment, that was later repealed, was the 18th Amendment. The 18th amendment probihited any consumption, sale, or manufacturing of intoxicated liquor. This was known as the temperance movement, and people who were against alcohol even created their own political party. This is not a well thought amendment because it violates people's rights for protraying their actions freely.

I don't think the government should have passed an amendment for banning the consumption of alcohol, because it was unfair to those that actually drank liquor. It violates the 9th amendment. The 9th amendment shows how people have certain rights that they shouldn't be denied because they actually aren't written in the Constitution. It is your business if you drink an alcoholic drink or not and as long as your aren't putting others in danger that shouldn't be taken away from you. Just because a certain group of people were against intoxicating liquor doesn't mean the rest of the people have to suffer. If the Constitution made an amendment prohibiting something just based on one group, it woulnd't be a free nation anymore. The 18th amendment was completley biased and not fair.

These amendments were passed so the citizens could have equal rights tha couldn’t be taken away.
These amendments expand the rights of the Constitutional rights of the people by not letting their rights to be taken away “without the due process of law”. This means that a person cannot be put in prison without a trial by jury in a court.
brent
They restrict the rights of the citizens by not letting them do unreasonable things.
The most important amendments are the first two because they give most of the freedoms. The least important is the 18th amendment, "Prohibition” because the 21st amendment repeals this one. That's the only purpose these two served. If you lived during the time before the 21st amendment, it may not be so insignificant, but for those of us who've lived afterwards it simply doesn't count anymore.
I think the government should have passed an amendment banning alcohol because many people die from drunk driving and get diseases from drinking too much.

a. These amendments were passed in order to protect rights of the citizens of the United States.
b. It expands it by letting people know what rights they have, what they can and cannot do, and it cannot be broken because its been going down for years which makes it even more powerful.
c. They restrict rights to citizens to a very high degree because it’s supposed to keep everything under control and also fair.
d. The most important would be freedom of speech, press. And the least would be the right to bear arms and I think all of them are really important since they are there.
e. if people want to drink that is there decision. It shouldn’t involve the government at all.
