1) The government was succesful in the area of forming the evacuation.
2) Bad part is the area it failed in was getting people evacuated sooner.
3) People will never know. Some say the reason behind its failiure is rascism but no one can be sure.
4) My ideas didn't nessecarily change because I still think the president should be in control of evacuations and hes the reason that no one was there sooner.

the government wasnt succesfull at all. The government failed in the areas of making sure that the leeves were fixed and with the rescue effert to rescue everyone. the major reason why the government failed was that they didnt respond to rescue the people fast enough. yes my ideas about responsibilities of government changed as a result of seeing this film because i thought that the government was gonna do a better job in helping the people of new orleans but i was wrong . the government did little as it can to help the people anthony period 2

1. I believe that the government wasn't successful in any way what-so-ever. Yes, they did eventually send buses to help the victims, but it was already too late for a quarter of them.

2. The government failed in each level. They were too late to help the victims, they sent no food, no water, or any other resources for them.

3. The reasons behind the government's failure was that they really had no idea what they were doing. They took too much time arguing with each other and being competitive with each other, they didn't realize the real damage.

4. Yes and no. I always thought our government wasn't the best, but I thought it was acceptable. But knowing what I know now, I'm really disappointed in them.

1. The government didn't really try and save all the people. They skipped some and came late.
2. The government came late. A lot of people died and dead bodies were scattered around.
3. I don't really know what the reasons were but maybe they couldn't send too many people to save them.
4.It hasn't changed so much for me. It just showed me how the government was being during this time. It hasn't changed my whole thought about it maybe just one thing: how they came too late and didn't save all the people in time.

The government was successful because they organized FEMA to help the people that had lost their homes. FEMA had allowed people to live in temporary homes.
The government failed because Bush took too long to organize rescue parties for the victims of the hurricane.
After seeing this film I feel that the government should have more responsibilities in these types of situations. They should act quicker in order to help the victims of these types of situations.

the government was not successful in any area. The government failed on every level. The main reason was that they failed was that they didn't respond quickly, no help was given. My ideas of the governments responsibilities has not changed,my view of the government has; They don't take their responsibilities seriously.

1. The government is successful in finally cleaning up New Orleans.

2. The government failed because it took them so long to clean up New Orleans. The hurricane struck in August 2005, and the government didn’t step in until many months after that.

3. The government didn’t get to New Orleans until many months after the hurricane. Also FEMA didn’t help the storm victims like it is supposed to do.

4. After viewing the film I realized that government really doesn’t care about the people. It only cares about its self and no its citizens. I feel that Bush didn’t care about any of the victims, and I hope our new president will step in and help our country, not turn away in a time of need.

I don't think that the government really did anything that was really successful because there was people dying. The government didn't come and help the people in New Orleans until a few weeks or months after the hurricane had hit.

The area in which each government failed in was trying to help people with their needs. the government didn't clean up after the hurricane hit it took him a long time before he got around to cleaning up New Orleans.

The major reasons behind the governments failure is because he failed to help the people in New Orleans that really needed it. there was people who had no money, their homes were destroyed and the government didn't do anything to help them. a few months passed and there still hasn't been any help for them.

No my responsibilities of government has changed as a result of watching this film because it was the governments responsibilities to send help and he didn't and I already knew that after the levees broke he should have sent help. People in New Orleans were dying and the government wasn't doing anything to prevent people from dying. The government didn't send any help when they needed it the most

1)I don't think the government was successful because it didn't help the people of New Orleans as
quickly as possible. Lots of people died because no one came to rescue them as soon as it happened. When the government finally arrived, they did make a difference but it was kind of late.

2)The President was on vacation and didn't help until the day after the hurricane after, the mayor was told to get the citizens out almost a whole day before but he didn't do it and when he finally did it, the place he sent them to had no food or water, then FEMA promised to come but didn't come fast enough, the National Guard came a day or two later but they didn't have enough supplies for everyone, and it was a combination of local, state, and federal governments not being prepares.

3)The reasons why it was a failure are that the government wasn't prepared and didn't have a plan, they didn't realize that there were so many people affected, and they didn't help until days later.

4)Yes, my ideas have changed about the responsibilities of the government after seeing this film because I always thought that I could depend on the government in any situation. This film made me realize that you can't trust them because they only care about themselves.

1. The Government was sucsessful at atleast at evacuating the people after huracane Kitrina hit New Orlenes to saftey.

2. The Federal Government failed to evacuate the citizens, the state government failed to protect the citizens, and the central government failed to supply the citizens, and accually rescue them.

3. The major reasons for the failure of the government was that they didn't protect the citezens before, or after Kitrina, and that the levees weren't biult properly. The navy suceeded at rescuing the people because the government told them to go there and help them, and that's what they did.

4. No they have not. This is so because I always said that the responsibilities of government was to protect the citizens, and that is what this film was trying to say.

1. I don't think the government was sucessful in any areas after Hurricane Katrina. Of course they go the job down by evactuating the people, but in the process many people were separated from their families, the deceased were left all over the city, in the water, on the streets, in the back of the Convention Center, on the I-10 interstates and their was no help for them.

2. The government failed at all concepts and areas of actually providing help. They didn't respond until 5 days! They didn't bring food and water until 5 days after! The government did not help the citizens of New Orleans. After they evactuated the people all they did was drop them off at the nearest airport. They didn't tell the people where they were being shipped to or any information. They actually separated children from their own mothers. The government failed overall.

3. The major reasons behind the government's failure was the fact that the people in New Orleans were black and didn't have any high standards on the social class. President George Bush was using the war in Iraq as an excuse to not know what was going in his own country! He claimed to not have any information and it took him 5 days and FEMA to finally go down there and just bring food and water!

4. Yes, my ideas have definently changed on the responsibilites of the government after seeing this film. The main role of the government to protect the citizens of the U.S. and provide help in certain areas it is needed, but the government chose to be totally ignorant on the issue going down in New Orleans, so as a result the government has to become more aware and open-minded to the events occuring all throught out America.

Mr. tesler i didn't do this assignment but I'm going to make it up:

1.i don't think the government was successful in any way, yes there was FEMA but FEMA didn't really help out a lot.George bush came way too late to new Orleans, he didn't do anything to help the people evacuate before things got too serious or too late, the government evacuated the people when halve of them died.

2.the government failed in many areas one area that the government failed was
-in evacuating the people who couldn't evacuate by there selves
-in offering food, water to the people who were stuck without it for long periods.
-in evacuating the people out of new Orleans after hurricane Katrina hit.

3.the major reasons of why the government took so long was like Mr tesler said, that in order to go into a state you have to get permission from the state but there was no excuses because if they were probably his "people" he would have helped them.

4.my ideas about the government have definetley changed i was mutual wit our government like i didn't think wrong or bad about him but after this film i realized that we have a real bad government who see how badly innocent people are suffering and don't even move a finger to help out.
