1. Fredrick Jackson Turner believes that the frontier in American history was important, because that is what the new settlers came to and that’s how they had to live. The implications of the closing of the frontier was upsetting because once it was gone, it would never come back.
2. People for American expansion argued that America was a strong country and places had been “drifting” toward them and God had made the government strong and able to handle other places. Anti-imperialists arguments were that America didn’t like when England was “owning” them, so why would another country like it?
3. Economy, political beliefs, and the military were very important because America wanted for money, needed protection, and needed to look powerful.
4. Foreign policy should be ruled like we rule the United States.
5. The United States should interfere in the internal affairs of a foreign country when that country asks for help.

1. Jackson Turner believes that the significance of the frontier was productive individualism. Also the increase of democracy both in the United States and in Europe. One implication of closing the frontier had to deal with it's "striking characteristics".
2. The imperialists of America argued by saying that American expansion won't only help us, but it will help others. Whether they asked for that help or not. Anti-imperialists felt that we, as in Americans, should take care of ourselves and worry about our own problems before we go and help other countries.
3. To me, the economy was important because if American studied imperialism, then how would we help ourselves first? But I also took into consideration that if another country needs help, you just can't say no. It would be a selfish act. Also, both political belief and the military were important. We had to support our own troops and make sure they would be safe before doing anything with other countries.
4. I think it all depends on the situation, honestly. It depends on what type of policy it is and what the problem is.
5. When they need help. Things such as natural disasters or when people are being killed or murder, then you know there's a problem and you have no choice but to help them.

2.People argued that God had not prepared the american people for nothing that they were the choosen ones. Another statement that they said was that all the US wanted to do was see the neighbor countys prosper.
3.It was improtant because without none of those America cant take over other countrys and make them surrender.
4.I think that it should be that we just have control and just like look over the shoulder or just get into it a little but not all, just an overview. If we have to take action we should but only for a real reason.
5.When there is some itel on stuff that are going on that shouldnt be. ex. weapons, drugs, humans.

(1) it brought new experiences and "broke our bond of custom". our expansionalso gave us undiscovered animals and resources. that there wasnt any moe land in america to be discovered.
(2) that the expansion broght new things into the world and helped form a new and young nation. that it was destroying countries along with their pride.
(3) for one thing, money was, is, and always will be a symbol of power and the same thing goes for land possesion. also, the land that the U.S. took control of were mostly strategic points and conuntries.
(4) that we should always respect other peoples traditions and religions when we gain control and/or govern a country.
(5) when the U.S. has an alliance with that country and/or the country asks for help.
1. Frederick Jackson Thomas believes that the frontier "promoted the formation of a composite nationality for the American people", meaning that the frontier gave Americnasn their indentity. When the US needed good from the coast in the west, working began buliding railroads. Democracy also shaped the frontier because it came at a higher importance because the frontier states were newer then some of the older states in the east that have been shaped into a democracy soceity. The implications would be that the frontier "calling out new institutions and activities, that, and more, the ever retreating frontier has been to the United States directly". Also he said that closing the frointeir would be like closing the first period of American history.

2.They argued saying that they wold help the people of the coutnries they would over take. They said they wer eunder worse government then before and that with the US governing they would shape into a strong country. Many also said that the need for expansion was at hand. People also said that if the US were to release these colonies fromt their ruler, and leave them out in the open for other countries like Germany and France to overtake, they would be in worse circumstances then before. Anti imperalsits said that it was unfair that the people of these countries must be colonized into a colony again, but this tie under different rule. An Anti Imperalsit also stated that "A self-governing state cannot accept sovereignty over an unwilling people. The United States cannot act upon the ancient heresy that might makes right."
4.In my opinion Americas had free rights to expand and do business with others countries but only if the other countries would be willng to. I dont believe imperalism is right, even for us Americans that have always been fouced on keeping the piece. Even though some Americnas wanted to expand the ecomcoic empire, express religious beliefs to others, and expand milatary I believe the opinion of the other country shoudl be taken into account before any aaction is taken.
4.I believe that in order for America to expand and form colonies it must frist have the consent of the other counteirs before doing anything. Business should also be debated on what comes in and goes out. Milatary is tough but i believe that if Americas would have milatary on a boat or protecting the citizens Americas should have some say in how many officers are brought. What they do shuld be up to that couuntrys governemnt.
5.I believe America should only interfere with other countries affairs if the Senate approves and believes it is best for the Americna people. If it is approved by Congress,America should only interfere in other countries affairs if there is a crisis at hand. Like a natural disater or war. Another time America should interfear is when the country askes for help. This would maintain balence both in that country and America.

Period 2
1.What does Frederick Jackson Turner believe was the significance of the frontier in American history? What might be the implications of the closing of the frontier?
Frederick Jackson Turner believed that the significance of the frontier in American history was the expansion and settlement in the unlimited free land outside of the existing settlements of Europeans. Turner talked about the region between the urbanized and civilized society and the untamed and unexplored wilderness.
The implications of the closing of the frontier would have resulted in the end of expansion and growth of the United States. America would not be able to spread its idea of democracy any further. America would not be what it is today if we had closed the frontier.
2. What did proponents (people in favor of) of American expansion argue? How did anti-imperialists respond to their arguments?
The proponents of American expansion argued that if the United States wanted to become and stay a world power then they must expand and be aggressive like the European countries.
Anti- federalist responded to their argument by saying that you can not impose your
will over unwilling people. They argued that imperialism violated the constitution.
3. What, in your view, were the relative importance of economic interest, ideology, and strategic interest in encouraging American imperialism? In other words, how important was the economy, political beliefs, and the military importance of these areas in encouraging America to practice imperialism?
America was growing and we needed to expand our economic trade with foreign countries. We wanted to spread the idea of democracy and we wanted to protect the territories and interest that we had. The United States wanted to become a major power in the world and stay there. If not for imperialism, the United States would not be what it is today.
4. What principles should govern American foreign policy? In other words, what ideas should rule how we conduct our foreign policy?
The principles or rules on how we conduct American foreign policy should be based on how we would benefit from the situation on hand. The policy should not threaten our freedom or our interest. All foreign polices should enable the United States to spread its ideology, increase it economic trade interest and help maintain our status as a world power. America should only intervene when absolutely necessary and if help and assistance is wanted by another country.
5. When should the United States interfere in the internal affairs of a foreign country?
The United States should interfere in the internal affairs of a foreign country only if the problem involves or is detrimental to the interest of the United States and its allies. If the situation threatens the security or freedom of a particular country or the world then we must get involved. We can also interfere in a foreign country’s internal affairs if asked for assistance by that country.
1. Frederick Jackson Turner believed that the signifigance of the fronteir is that it was used to promote democracy to the American people and in Eroupe. The consequence for this was that the traditions of other foreign countries wew ruiened by outsiders.
2. The people for imperialism argued that the US should be imperialist because we would be able to spread christianity around the globe like God wanted, get new meterials for markets and trade, and the US would be an entire, powerful empire. The anti-Imperialist thought that this was an inhumane act to destroy the peace of other cultures and people just for our own needs.
3. In some areas, like the Dominican Republic, America thought that they should take the country because of it's resorces, like soil, so that the economy would go up from the marketing. Other land were useful to the US because it was a link to Eroupe or Asia, so the US would be prepared for war, like Hawaii, it is now used as a military base. The US also thought that it was not only important to spread out for economic and military reasons, but to also promote democracy all around the world, ecpecially in Latin-America.
4. When the US is thinking about how we should deal internationally, we need to look out for the consequences of our actions, what benifits will come out of it, and how much something would cost.
5. I think the only time that the US should interveine with other countries is when those other countries are very good allies of the US and need help, or if the conflict spreads to us, like it did in WWI.

1. He believed that the fronteir was a good thing,he beleived that there were new experinces and activity there and he also felt the closeing of the fronteir is a closing of the first period of American history.
2.?
3.?
4.I think we should simply just be at peace with countries snice we most likely helped them one way or another for example America gave some countries money for foreign policies.
5. The U.S. should only interfere with other states only if the countries if there in need of help, or if they are goin to harm the U.S., or if they have something like nuclear bombs.

1)Frederick Jackson Turner thought that the frontier was very important in American history. It was a line that divided the U.S. which was democratic, from other countries that we crossed so we could spread democracy. If we closed the frontier the US could become an industrialized nation and we could expand into other countries and use our power to get what we want and need and start trading.
2)The proponets of American expansion argue that we needed to spread democracy and Christianity and help other countries improve the way they live. Also, if we help other countries we might gain something back like resources and increase trade and gain more land. The anti-imperialists felt that we shouldn't take ovr and govern other countries just brcause we were stronger than they were and that the people should want us to govern them and not be bullied by us or judged.
3)The economy, political beliefs, and militay were and are very important for America to practice imperialism because all of these things effect our lives. If we didn't consider them, then America
couldn't expand.
4)I think that the U.S.should try to make alliances with other countries and treat them with respect. You should always know who your enemies are so you can be ready just in case of war.
5)The U.S. should interfere only when the foreign country starts mistreating the people or hurting them in any way.

1:
Turner stated that america owes its ideology to the frontier, without it america would not be america.
2:
Supoorters said that imperialism would help spread the american influence, and help the US. econemy.
3:
In my opinion, imperialism would help the econemy immensly, and would spread the american democratic influence. However, there is a wrong doing in invading other countries, just for land+support.
4:
There should be a few rules:
-Support
To support the country in need
-Return
The country owes you somthing
-Partnership
Become an alliance
(as long as it does not become a coalition)
5:
America should treat other countries as if it treated its own citizens.
1. Turner believes the significance of the frontier in american history was that it "promoted the formation of a composite nationality for the American people."
The implications of closing the frontier are that the american culture would stop being promoted and spread to others.
2. People not in favor of expansion argued isolationism.
3. Economical, political, and military beiliefs were very important when it came to imperialism because thats what it emered from. It helped boost our imports and exports and we invested in other countries. We wanted to spread democracy and we wanted to control other people and have army bases everywhere.
4. Rules that should rule how we govern our foreign policy should be done individually by each country setting down guidelines for when we can and cannot interfere.
5. The U.S should interfere in the internal affairs of another country if they are asked to or if it will do a great deal of damage to our country.
