Assignment #2: 9/11 Illness Due Monday 9/14

Eight years have passed since the occurrence of the terrorist attacks of September 11th. Given the current controversy about health care in the United States, this discussion is still relevant.

Read the following articles.

After reading the articles, post a thoughtful reflection to the following questions.
  • How has money played a role in the care of 9/11 cleanup victims?
  • Who is at fault for the illness?
  • What chages in finance need to be made to correct the problem? Is healthcare a federal, city or individual responsibility?

for the question abiut who is at fault.

i think that noone is at fault for the illnesses that have occured but i do think that those members at mt. saini are at fault for not properly taking care of those people who were broght to the hospital and not proplerly treated

I think that the government should be responsible for all the fiances. They should be responsible because it was a world wide experience. Some changes that will help with the finances is making a museum in honor of 9/11, and those who lost their lives. There should be pictures of what happened and all the lives that were taken, they should also have a presentation on what had happened and an explanation on to why it had happened. The money that the museum makes should go to the people that have lost their family and friends. The money that they also make can go to the city's needs.
I feel health care should be a federal responsibility because it is unfair to have hard working citizens pay out of pocket to go to the doctor to get treatment. It was not their fault it happened it was the governments.
I think the government is at fault for the illness because they are the government and we have the right to blame them.

the money had play the role in he care of 9/11 ground zero worker because, it was found that 40% of the worker don't have health care. Without the money they won't have proper treatment, unlike people who have health insurance. Hillary clinton helped by senting $52 million into the federal funding, so the ground zero worker can get some treatments.

The fault for the illness is the federal government. They should had reacted faster. They should had also came up with a plan by now, since it was eight years already. The workers who had suffer these illnes are innocent, and dersever medical attentions. Those it's the federal responsibility

The change in finance right now, is we need more people, such as the government to participate to help the ground zero worker. They should think of a way, so the workers who have no health care to GET health care. Since it was reported that the illness had gotten worsen over the years, the attention and helps must be needed.Obama which I think he had participate in to helping is, he is thinking of giving people who have no health care, to give them health insurance. I also think that not only the government should had help, but so does "we" the people in united state. There should be an community to get people to understand what is happening, and collect money in the street, so they can give it to federal funding for health treatment. It was a world wide experience, and doctors are concern for the patient. “Our patients are sick, and they will need ongoing care for the rest of their lives” said Dr. Robin Herbert, co-director of Mount Sinai’s World Trade Center Worker.

I believe that the government should take full responsibility for the victims of 9/11. I think that the government should pay for the health care for the victims becuase the people from 9/11 become unipoyed, and they have to pay for health care from there own packets. I think thats wrong, the government should pay for the health care because they know that alot of the works dont have a job no more, the just wont to be greedy with there money. And i cant really blame no one for the illnesses because no one can make or a illness. So no one is at falt for that.

How has money played a role in the care of 9/11 cleanup victims?

Money played a big role in the care of 9/11 , because people got sick, and they needed help, supporting their family, a lot of cleanup workers
didn't have health insurance, but needed medical attention.

Who is at fault for the illness? There’s not one group that could be responsible for the illnesses other than the terriosts, because people weren’t aware that they were being expose to very hazard material.

What changes in finance need to be made to correct the problem? Is healthcare a federal, city or individual responsibility?

The bank should lend more money to the people who can’t pay there medical bills and who doesn’t have heath insurance, because the people can have the right medicine, medical stuff to get better, so they have a better chance of living. Health care is a individual responsibility, because it’s make sure that you live healthy and heath care takes care of you’re insurance.

I think that the government should pay health care to those who had risked their lives that fateful day because they deserve it and 40% of those people do not have insurance to cover themselves.Out of those 40% alot of them have respiratory disfunctions and they should be taken care of because if we did not have them that day on september 11th , alot more lives than those 4000 people who helped would have been gone.

Money played a major roll in the clean up because it was a major disaster. Cleaning up and treating the sick is costing a lot of money. I think federal government and city are responsible for the illness because they said the air was safe. I think the Federal government and the city should be responsible to pay for the medical treatment.

I believe the government should be held responsible for taking care of those with illnesses due to 9/11, especially firefighters and police officers who took part in handling the rubble and pulling people out of what used to be the trade centers. Many people got sick because of the thick smoke. so the least the government can do is offer help to those who helped us in our time of need.

I think money helped in the care of 9\11 cleanup by getting the tools for cleaning and finding items from where ground zero is. The money were also used to make a place for the big parts of the 9\11artifacts.

1) I think money has played a big role in the care of 9/11 cleanup victims because ever since the terrorist attack of the World Trade Center, the cleanup workers have needed medical attention. Since some of the victims don't have health insurance, they won't be able to go to a medical center and get treated, and in this financial crisis it will be hard to pay for their medical needs because they may have families to take care of, etc.

2) I think no one is at fault for the illness caused to the people at the World Trade Center because nobody knew that they were going to be attacked by terrorist. And since nobody knew about the attack or the dangerous illnesses that came with it, there can't be one to blame.

3) I believe that the government should stop spending money on needless stuff, and consider lending the cleanup victims financial aid ,who actually need the money, because like i siad above, they may have a family to take care of and may not have health insurance, so how can they pay for their medical needs.

I think health care is a federal resposibility because it's their job to take care of all their citizens. Especially if those citizens helped cleanup ground zero, were the disastrous event of 9/11 occured.

I don't think that it was all the goverments fault because they never planned for this to happen, and if they decide to be responsible for it it should be to help the people. I think they should pay for those who are sick because they are American citizens so therefore it is the goverments responsibility to help us get the medication that we need. I think money has played a role in the 9/11 cleanup victims in a very big way because there has been a lot of sick workers and for each of them theres hundreds of dollars being used to help them get better. I think healthcare will change if they decide to take responsibility for these sick workers because like i said before, its going to be lots of money being used.

i think that the money that the government uses should be equaly givin' to those people who are in need of it who don't have enough money to provide for themselves

Olivia Kuros said...

Money did not provide much cause in post 9/11 because there was not enough of it. It was proven that over 40% of the workers repairing and restoring ground zero did not have health care. This took its toll on workers and their health, for the obvious reason that sufficient medical attention could not be recieved.
I believe that the city officials are responsible for this illness. They have not inforced safety rules and regulations which are essential in these types of situations to ensure safety of those men and women restoring ground zero. It should have been their responsibilty to ensure healthcare for those working on the site and this could have been done with better management of money by the city government.

Money has played a role in the care of 9/11 cleanup victims, because cleanup workers became sick. They didn't have health insurance, they seeked medical attention at once.

Docotor's at Mount Sanai are at fault because thevictims needed help, but the hospital couldn't manage tp recover every victim.

The changes in finance that needs to be corrected is the government should give Money and insurance to people who seak it. Healthcare is a City responsibility becasue everyone deserves a helping hand. Some people can't afford health insurance. It will be the responsible thing to do!

Just so you know, I'm posting this assignment this late because I had it in my binder the whole time, and I never handed it in.

1. Their parents should tell them that these events happened because nothing is perfect in this world, the terrorists didn't like the US, and when the found a vulnerable spot, they took it.
2. History books should represent the pilots as traitors or terrorists.
3. The US has and is still fighting a war against Iraq and Afghanistan, a since 9/11, the whole world had rissen prequation and saftey against terrorists.
