I think that prohibition was not a good idea. Many people just completely ignored the law and drank anyway. Since it was illegal to buy alcohol from other countries, there was a lot of bootlegging. The law made people want to drink even more then they usually would. In the 1920's the United States government made alcohol illegal. Now, certain drugs are illegal. Both reasons for the banning of these items were to keep the country safe. I personally think that the government shouldnt legalize drugs just because they are bad. But based on the outcome of prohibition maybe the US government should legalize drugs. The prohibition law didnt really work out and this law about drugs really isnt working to good either.

I Do not think that Prohibition was a good idea, because people drank so much in the 1920s and they didnt know how to stop and that made the government think just because they added a law people would stop with the drinking and ect.but they didn’t the gov't did think of the out comes that could come with adding this 18th amendment. Prohibition relates to the war on drugs today by having the same concept people are told not to do such things but no one really obeys them.
Based on the outcome of Prohibition, i think the US gov't should not legalize drugs because its a wrong thing to do but it also depends on what kind of drugs your talking about alcohol is not really a drug that people believe is harmful to the body but other drugs are so it all depends on the drug but I don’t think they should made all drugs legal to use or buy

i think prohibition is a bad thing. for one it takes away ones right that he has had. another is of all those who will still crave it and se other means for obtaining it illegally.
the war on drugs is similar in the sense that they cannot keep people from obtaining it. as longs people crave somthing there is no stoppijng them from obtaining that whuich they want.

No, I don't think prohibition was a great idea because it increased crime. People now were more eager to get alcohol. Many illegal ways to obtain alcohol developed. Prohibition relates to the war on drugs today because drugs are illegal and so many people are more eager to break the law and get drugs. No, I don't think the US government should legalize drugs because then many teenagers will waste their future by doing drugs and forget about an education.

A. I think the prohebition act was both a good and bad idea. Its good because it protects our country but bad becauseit made gangs in our country. Like it said no person shall export or import liquor unless needed or purscribed might have gotten others mad.
B. It relates o the war on drugs because even though drugs are prohibited they still are used, so was alohol.
C. Based on the outcome of prohibition i think that the US government shouldnt legalize drugs because like it says there is a greater percentage of people using them even though prohibition might be the cause we could find another way to stop all of that

I think that the motivations behind Prohibition were good, but the law itself was not a logical idea. Prohibition was virtually impossible to enforce because Alcohol had become such a large part of society. When the 18th Amendment was passed, peoples' urgency to break the specific law inspired more crime than there had been before.
I cant really say how prohibition relates to the war on drugs today other than that both deal with substance abuse, and both substances have negative effects on the people who use them and the people around them.
I dont think that the Government should legalize drugs because it would only allow for more chaos and destruction to continue on unchallenged.

I think that prohibition was a good; it too was a bad idea. It was a good idea because according to The Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) the president said, The increase in home owning is another evidence that money wasted in drink is now used for the benefit of the family. Improved living conditions are noticeable in our former slum districts. It was a bad idea because in spite of the law it attracted the people who drank liquor to drink liquor even more. Prohibition links to the debate on drugs nowadays because drugs are bad for you. Drugs can rob you of the hard earned pennies you make every day. Drugs can rob you of your time you spend with your loved ones. Drugs can be good for because certain types of drugs can be good for your health when you are ill, but then you would need a certain amount of it. I think that the United States government should legalize drugs because specific people might need that particular type of drug. I think that if the government were to legalize drugs they should have doctors prescribe it to the patience who need it.

I think that prohibition wasn't i good idea because i think it caused more problems they took it away so they had bootleggers brought the alchol in on boats and peple still got drunk and it caused more problems there was aot of fighting and it was all over alchol they shold have never banned alchol from the us. Prohibition relates to the war on durgs because there are people who sell it on the sides of the streets. Since they made it aleege drugs people try hard to get them and it can cause bug fights. I don't think that should keep it banned because it could have a bad influse on kds today thinking it is ok to use it and it is really not.

I think that the Prohibition act was not good because if the act stated that the people could'nt drink, then they would do it more. There was also more crimes when the Prohibition act was made then before. However, I also think the Prohibition act was good because a lot of men were abusing their wives, and the Prohibition act stopped it.
Prohibition relates to war on drugs today becasue drugs make you do bad things, such as abuse people or it can cause you to not concentrate and you can get hurt badly or hurt someone else badly, but if there werent drugs there would be less of a chance of abusment, injurys, or death.
Based on the outcome of Prohibition, I think the Government should NOT legalize drugs because even though people want them now, it is harder for teenagers and adults to get the drugs. If they get caught they are in serious trouble. If drugs are legalized then everyone will be doing it and this world would be messed up more than it is right now.

I think prohibition was both a good & bad idea because when drinking was legal eveyone would spend money on that mostly at places to drink & basically that was eveything people did.
but then again when it was illegal people wanted it more. most people to drink would go to illegal bars so no body would know it was to drink beers.
I think prohibition & war relate to today because like still today there are laws for the cities & states. & like with war its not prohibited but sometimes it should be from my opinion because wars bad.

a. I think prohibition was a good idea because alcohol was starting to be more outlawed, which is better for the communities.
b. Prohibition relates to the war on drugs today because they both are intoxicating substances. Today drugs are against the law, and we follow pretty much the rules of prohibition for drugs.
c. I think the US govt should not legalize drugs. I think this because it will be bad for our country's reputation.

I think that the thought of prohibition was good, but on the other hand it led to more conflicts and crime. More people started to just ignore the law, and drank anyway. They didn't want that concept of their lives to be taken away from them. Prohibition relates to drugs today, because in prohibition you were not allowed to sell, manufacture, or even transport alcohol, and that is the same thing going on today. No one is allowed to sell drugs illegally or transport them to someone else, but they still do so anyway. It is a way for drug dealers to get money. I do not think the U.S should legalize drugs, because there are so many harmful ones, that if they give them out to everyone in the public, people will just start to use them to feel good, or get away from their problems. It will cause serious health problems too.More people will become addicts, and will have to spend money on rehab. How much will the drugs be? If they are going to be legalized they can be expensive too. People being on any kind of drug is scary, because they can go out and kill people too. People can also overdose on the drugs, and if teenagers will be allowed to have them too, then it can ruin their lives. A lot more people will die, or kill themselves because of what the drug can do to you.

I think prohibition was a good investiment...only becuase it made a excellent profit to the united sates econmy..I don't think it should be illeagl becuase it makes a lot of profit and if we stopped the mass production of it our econmy woud loose a lot of money..and people would still find an illegal way too get alcholaic.I think people jus need 2 learn how to control themselves.

I do not think that the Prohibition Act was a smart idea because it increased the rate in crimes. Now that they have banned alcohol, there are people who go to extreme extents to get it back. And by going through these extremes, this is making crimes increase in the U.S. Prohibition relates to the war on drugs today because since they are illegal in the U.S., people who are addicted to drugs are eager to get them. Some people out on the streets sell drugs secretly and illegally, which can start fights and things to occur on that topic. I do not think that the U.S. government should make drugs legal because they are bad for the body in cases where people like to over dose on them. And if we make them legal, people will know that there will be an easier acess to them, meaning that they will be ruining their lives all together.

I don't think that it was a good idea becasue people broke the law anyway. People would go to these underground bars called speak eases. The prohibition relates ton the war on drugs today by having certian drugs banned from the US. There is one drug that helps people medically called marijuana. This medical use is related to the alcohol medical use in the 1920's. I don't think that the government should legalize drugs because some drugs can acctually kill you. If you were to die of alcohol you would have to have drank 20 bottles of beer.

After reading the information about the Prohibition on Alcohol I think it was not a good idea to prohibit alcohol because even after the law was passed, people continued to drink anyhow. Instead organized crimes became more common and gangsters such as Al Capone flourished due to the prohibition of alcohol. Due to the fact that alcohol was illegal in the U.S and some other countries so there was a lot of bottlegging going on from Canada to the U.S.
Nowadays certain types of drugs are illegal. Even though I think that the U.S should not legalize drugs but based on the outcomes from the 1920's and even today, people to it anyway so they should legalize drugs and see how it goes from there. Both laws passed on alcohol and now the drugs have proved to be a failure.

I think Prohibition was a bad idea because it is a person's decision to go out and spend his or her money on alcohol. The people in favor of Prohibition said that people could now buy cars without spending money on things like liquor. That might be true but that is a decision the person should make. Also there are some responsible people that would like a nice drink at a party or get together so it is not rally fair for the people. Thanks to Prohibition gang violence became a huge movement in America as well as illegal smuggling of drinks and creation of speakeasies.
Prohibition relates to the war on drugs because back then they were trying to completely eradicate alcohol just like America is trying to get rid of drugs.
Drugs are different than alcohol. Drugs are far more dangerous than alcohol. Alcohol can be dangerous if too much is drunk but if a smart drinker only takes what he or she can handle and they don't drive after drinking they will be fine. I dont think that drugs should be made legal in the U.S.

a. I think that Prohibition definetly was a good idea at the time because many things were happening because of alcohol. there were crimes and people were poor because of alcohol so it was a good idea at the time even htough it failed.
b. Prohibition relates to the war on drugs today because the government back then was trying to stop drug use and our government todayu is trying to stop drug use and distribution.
c. I do not think that the government should legalize drugs because our society would not be good and it wouldnt be a safe place.

c. It really depends on which type of drugs the government is talking about.

i think that prohibition was a bad idea, though there were good intentions behind the law. But no the law did not do its purpose instead made the problem into a bigger problem. Once the government starts limiting your rights on your values, people are going to rebel & thats what happend. People didnt like being controlled in that matter so they DID go after the alcohol. When the government allowed it, less tension and control was present and people felt as ease. Drugs is the same situation;tell them no and you'll only making the situation worse.

I DONT KNOW if legalizing drugs would change the peoples mind about taking drugs anymore. SO TO ME it doesnt really help...im not too sure what to say.:]

I dont think prohibition was a bad idea because it increased more crime and didnt do any good people still did it anyway. Drugs are also illegal but people still find ways to get them just like the alcohol. Idont think they should legalize all drugs because i think it mostly depends on the type of drugs.

I think that probation was a bad idea because people just ignored the law completely they just kept on smuggling alcohol into the country. Probation relates to the war on drugs today because even though it is not allowed people still can almost find it any were. I think they should legalize it because the probation to me doesn't make a difference at all.

[A]I believe that at some point prohibition was a bad at idea. The major thing was making alcohol illegal because it made thing worst.
[B]Prohibition was and is a big thing in our life, no one wants to be told what they can do or what they can't do. By making drugs illegal all you do is making people sneaking around and doing illegal drugs. It kind of the same thing with wars, sometime people get drafted and they don't want to go so some hide themselves so they can't go, but that illegal.
[C]Based on the outcome of Prohibition, I don't think the US gov't should legalize drug. IT really wont change anything

(a)=
I think prohibition was a bad idea. It raised organized crime rates, caused deaths, and destroyed families more than when alcohol was legal. It made many more people drink, not because they liked the taste of alcohol but to rebel against the new law.

(b and c)
I think prohibition relates to the war on drugs today because maybe many people would stop doing drugs if it were legal. People have this urge to brake the rules and defy the law. Drugs is one of the ways they could do that. However, if drugs were legal they couldn't do them to defy the law. But they can always find something else to do, which is probably the other side of the argument. Drugs aren't the only things people can do to defy the law. So making them legal wouldn't majorly change anything. Plus drugs aren't taken only to defy the law, so there will still be many people using drugs. You cant make something legal if you want people to stop using them. If anything MORE people will probably use them. A lot of people don't use drugs because of the fact that they are illegal. These such people are probably law followers and also are scared they will get in trouble. If drugs are legal then there not braking the law by taking them and will have no fear. So I think making drugs legal is a bad decision.
