I propose that the carrying of guns should be restricted to the Police, FBI, CIA, NSA, INS(and other similar agencies) and the military. I believe that there is too much crime going on in the United States because, people that don't work for a public agency carry guns too. Some are either criminals or psychos that harm others in the community. Others just want to protect themselves. If access to guns was restricted to public agencies that are meant to protect us, there would be less crime in the U.S., which is a major social issue today.

1) Because it involves money and checks which our government basically revolves on.

2) I think the legislative branch has the most power because it is the center of everything.

3) I think it doesn’t slow us down because we want everything in our government to be safe and if that’s what it takes we will take longer.

1. This is a system of checks and balances because they check to make sure one isn't overpowering the other and they balance eachother out.
2. I think the executive branch has the most power because that's what branch the president is under.
3. It does slow down the government because all three branches of government have a decision in the laws.

1. What reasons might explain why this system called a system of "Checks and Balances?" this system is called the system of checks and balances because it is a system that gives each governmental branch little bit of power

2. Which branch do you think has the most power under this system? Why? i think that the supreme court has the most power because they can do more things the president can do.

3. Some people say that the system of Checks and Balances slows down the process of government unnecessarily. Do you agree? Why, or Why not? ithink that it doesnt slow down the process itjust inforces it.

1.This system is called checks and balances because, when we seperate the government into 3 different branches, that balances everything out. This helps the government work much quicker.
2. I think that the executive branch is much more powerfull, because that is the branch that is responcible for the day to day managment of the government. So without the executive branch we would have many problems.
3. I do think that the system of Checks and Balances does not slow down the government. I actually think it speeds it up because other wise everything would be crammed together, for only on egroup to take car of.

A reason it is called "checks and balances" because they have to check before they make any ammednemts or laws into the constution. I think the legisluration branch has more power because they get to decide on the laws. I disagree because it should take long to decide on laws because if you just put them into the constution they could be non important so thats its good to have checks and balances

I think that this system is called checks and balances because there checking on each branch and balancing the power. The branch that i think has the most power is the system is the executive branch because the judical branch comes up with laws and they go to the executive branch and that's where the laws get passed. I disagree because if the system is checking on each branch its for the peoples own good because there checking to see if there coming up with laws that can make our country better. Also, because there balancing the power so one branch doesn't get too much power.

1. The three branches have a little power over the eachother.
2. I think the legislative branch has the moct power because it can declare war upon other countries that threaten us.
3. I do not agree because making laws should take time.

1.The system of “Checks and Balances” is important because it controls how much power each branch gets. Without “Checks and Balances” each branch would be able to do what they want and pass any law or amendment they wanted to. With “Checks and Balances” each branch checks the law or amendment wanting to be passed to see if it is constitutional or not.
2.The Judicial Branch of Govt has the most power because they have the 3-court system (Supreme, Federal, District courts) and they apply and explain the laws.
3.I do not agree that the system of “Checks and Balances” slows down the process of the govt. It doesn’t slow down the Govt because each branch is able to check and make sure a law or amendment is constitutional. If one branch just made a law or amendment it might be unconstitutional or incorrect.

I think the system is called a system of checks and balances because each branch is able to check another one. They can then balance them out if they are doing something wrong or incorrect. I think that each branch has an equal amount of power, they can each check other branches, and be checked by those same branches. I disagree with this statement, although the system of checks and balances may slow down the process of government, it keeps everything orderly and makes sure no one branch has too much power.

The reason the Founding Fathers created the system of checks and balances because they didn't want any branch to have too much power. The checks of balances is when each branch checks on one another to make sure nothing is unjust, and keeping the balance between them. The people of the 13 colonies knew that the Articles of Conferderation didn't create a strong government and the government under Parliament didn't give them any freedom, so as a result they wanted to create a new strong national government and keep the protection of the people's rights. I think the Judicial Branch has the most power under the system, even though that isn't completely true because the checks and balances try to keep all the powers equal and balanced. The Judicial Branch is made up of the U.S. Supreme Court which is the highest federal court, as well there are other smaller federal courts. The judicial branch can claim a law unconstitutional if it doesn't follow the Constitution. This is also known as the judicai review. As well they can help conflicts between states, states and federal, and individual with cases and decide if the law is within the power of the government according to the Constitution. I think the Checks and Balances keeps the government from making any mistakes and lets everyone check over and approve before they pass any laws that might contridict with something else. I don't think it slows down the process of the government because the government should not be rushed in making a decision that might not be best for the nation overall.

Some reasons that might explain why this system is called "Checks and Balances" is because each branch is allowed to check the others and make sure that not one branch of government gets too dominate over their power. By doing so, they are keeping everything balanced and in check.
I think that the Executive branch has the most power under this system because they are allowed to make the laws, declare war, impeach presidents and much more. Even though, for all of this to happen the other branches need to approve as well, I feel that the Executive branch has the capability to do more for the country.
I don't think that the system of "Checks and Balances" slows down the process of government unnecessarily. I think that it is quite necessary because if we want our country to run smoothly without conflicts, then it takes time to solve all of the situations we have.

This system is most likely called the system of checks an balances because in this system in order to pass a law or bill it needs to go through a system of three branches that need to to improve it before it could be approved.

I believe that neither branch as more power over the other because thats why it is called a system of checks and balances. In this system there are ways to overturn an action that one power approved of.

I really do not believe it slows up the process of government because in goes through a system that can easily be upturned by either powers that it is proposed to.

This system is called the system of "checks & balances" because the governmental power is divided and seperated amongst 3 branches, the legislative, the judicial, and the executive. Each branch checks on the other. They keep each other balanced so one branch does not over rule the other two. I believe the legislative branch has the most power because the people are appointed, they can make/change laws, can alter the constitution, and can over rule the presidents deicsion with 2/3 vote as well as many other reasons. Although it may slow down the governmental process, we know that our governmant isnt corrupt. Each branch helps the other so i agree with the three branches. It may take long, but we know that the job is getting done correctly.

This constitutional system is called the system of "Checks and Ballances" because it makes it, so that all three of the legislative branches have equal power, and they are able to check on eachother, they also have a little bit of each power. The branches are all suppost to be equal in power, but in my oppinion, I think that the "Executive Branch" has the most power. This is so because this branch is basicly able to suggest people to work in congress, and to make sure that the laws of the nation are enforced. This branch is looking after all the others. I don't believe that the system of checks and ballances slows down the process of the government. I believe this because if we don't give equal power to the branches, than the people would find their rights as violated, and they wouldn't do anything about it. Say there was no checks and ballances, and the constitution gave most of the power to the executive branch, then, if the executive branch is violating the laws, the supreme court, and congress couldn't do anything about it. But, it could get worse, there might not even be a constitution, and our country may still be living under the Articles of Confederation, or possibly colaps.

1.This system was called the 'checks and balance'system because, there needs to be balance between the three branches. The executive branch the judicial branch and the legislative branch, all have equal powers, but play different rolls. Its called checks because each one checks up on each other.
2.I think that the branch with the most power will be the legislative. I think the legislative becuase they are the ones who make the laws. They make laws and then suggest them to the executive.

This system is called the system of checks and balances because it keeps each branch of the federal government in line. I think that the legislative branch has most power because this branch can pass a law and overide a veto. The systemof checksand balancs is not unnecessary because it is a way of defending the people. None of the federal branches of government can control much of anything without the other two branches. So that a president or a judge could not make a law that enslaves the human race.

1. what reasons might explain why this system called a system of "checks and balances?"
because they send out checks and the power is balanced

2. which branch do you think has the most power under this system? why?
the one the president is in because they are chosen by the people

3. some people say that the system of checks and balances slows down the process of government unnecessarily. do you agree? why, or why not?
yes it does but we need this system because we can't just except any laws. what if there was a check for polution to be legal due to it being because of nessisary resonce we would have no say to it. so we need the system weither we like it or not.
