I think y=the top 5 things why the author thinks history is important because without our history , we would not know about our past. We would also not know many htings that we know today if there was no past.Also if their was no history their would be no point of our existence because we would not know what god put us on this planet for. We would also be like monkeys swinging from vines if we had no history. this is why history is so important.

i think social studies is important because you learn about the past and how all these laws came in and how we know how to fix things like we did in the past.

i think history is important for us to learn and every single one of us should play a role in atleast trying 2 to comprehend it to learn more of ourselfs and sociaty.
History helps us understand alot about diferent kinds of religions, cultures, and societies. we can learn the way they act, there goverments and beliefs. all this is to help us now so that we dont make the same mistakes as before and our leaders can have an idea of where to lead our country and the way people would like them to.
Also history can also help to learn or find out about parts of ourlives we dint even noe or belief we had in us. history can help us trace our roots and our past and learn more about not only about ourselfs but others which can amake us smarter and think of other religions or cultures in a more mature and respectfuyl way which makes us look more sofisticated and not like ignorants.
another reason why history is good to know is because in alots of major sutides u have to atleast have some knowlegde of history which is an advantage because in any kind of work place you are require to know some history of the world or united states, even when people are goin to get there citizenships they need to know some history of the united states to adquired it.
I think is best if we all study some history even if is just high school history because history takes place almost in every day of our lifes and we need to be prepare to make impresions some including getting a job or firts impresions to colleges which is something usefull in life thats why history is important to our lifes and we should study it....

Well in the atircal siad that its important to know about ower past because in the past, alot of things happened. Konowing abot the past can help the kid or alduts an about any quetions they have about there family. And alot of kids learn more history than they are sopato learn.

And i thinl that history is important to learn. The reason i say that is beacause if no one know nothin about there past, they ar egoing to be complety cule less. And the other reason is that of we dont learn about the past, we would not know what we will need to improve on. So the is my reson that i think history is inpotant to learn.

I think that studying history is kindof important. Why I think that way was because, what happens in the past is not really important to now days anymore. But i also thinks that, history sould be impotant because it is something that made who we are, and how we are here today.
Reading the article the five most important reasons, that i think for studing history is; history Helps Us Understand People and Societies. By that means,long time ago scientist had formulate theories or laws about human behavior.Which the experiment they did can determine how human would act. the text also said that "the past must serve as our most vital evidence in the unavoidable quest"
That's ture, without the past's data the people won't get the sense of how societies function.
2)History is in Our Own Lives;
History is in our own life because, we have our ancester in the past. Not only if it's in our own life, but in the whole entire world. But history can help us to understand, and everything that happen until today. Without our hero in the past, we're probably human with freedom, with bill of right, or independence.
3)History Provides Identity:
I think that this is one of the most important reason of why history is important.
Histor provides the imformtion of how your type of cuture use to life like. How they survival, what they did, what they believe in, and the theme and setting. These imformation are somethings that tell and identify for who you are.
4)History Is Essential for Good Citizenship;
history data have shown the difficulties they went through from taxes to national institutions. The history would provide us the understnadingof the poblem that they faced and what they done to overcome the issue. it helps us to understanding what had lead us to that issue, so we won't made the smae mistake in the future. Good citizens should know this in order to have better busniesses.
5)History Is Useful in the World of Work; if you study history you can work in a museums and media centers. Peope who works there is someone that is an professional historians. history can also invole you to a bette career, into lawyer or public administration. studying history is also important for public helps, and freedom of speech.

Five most important reasons the author gives for studying history are 1.History is the guideline for our future.(We learn from our historical past to create our future, also its like the saying you dont know where you're going if you dont know where you came from)2. helps us learn about people other than ourselves.( we learn about diffrent race struggles in america and how they overcame them, we learn about how another race immigrated to ammerica) 3. teaches people what happened in major situations that shaped our lives today. ( since some historical things happened really far back you dont know what happened, you were not there but history was) 4. helps people become better people as a cause of heroes in the past. ( you can be inspired to change your life or something you think isnt fair, you can be inspired to become brave, smart, courageous, and so many other things. 5. makes you, you. ( history can tell you things about yourself, your genes your ancestors, everything, its a great way to find yourself. History is very important to me. It's so great to learn about the incredible ways America became America, and just diffrent topics that i never knew before.

One reason that history should be studied is becuase,history contributes to moral understanding. That reason, I think , is important becasue anyone can read an event that happened to an individual fromt the past,and try to test his/her moral senses.

History should also be studied becasue it helps us understand people and societies. I think it's important becasue It offers the only extensive evidential base for the contemplation and analysis of how societies function, and people need to have some sense of how societies function simply to run their own lives.

History helps us understand change and how the society we live in came to be. That reason is important because our society needs to know what happened in the past un order to understand the present.

Another reason can be that history provides identity. I think history providing identity is true becasue people can study their own history and trace back to their ancestors. That way people can know more about themselves.

Studying history is essential for good citizenship. That is also a good reason to study history because we are able to know how our nation interacted with other societies,providing international and comparative perspectives essential for responsible citizenship.

I do think studying history is important because that way we can learn from the mistakes done from people from the past in order for us not to repeat them.

There are endless reasons why to study history but there are five that stood out to me in the article.
The first one that stood out to me was that history helps us understand people and societies. This stood out to me beacause I identify with this highly. It is because of history that I have gained a better understanding of vast cultures and religions as oppose to staying in ignorant darkness. For example I have learned about religions such as Islam and gained insight on Muslim customs which altered my stereotypical views on Muslims radically.
The second reason that stood out to me in the article was that history provides identity. This stood out to me because of its sheer validity. When I read this I realized that all different cultures have their origins which history preach and expose. Of course people would want to study history as a means to discover their individuality and identity.
The third reason which stood out to me was history helps us understand change and the society we live in came to be. This is one of the more obvious reasons to study history, it still is a valid one. When we study history we can observe mistakes and trends to ensure that they never reoccur. When we study history it is then when we truly understand society as it is today and the events which lead to our current events.
The fourth reason which stuck out to me in the article was
that history contributes to moral understanding. This relates to the previous reason because when we study history we can live by example. When contemplating on various events we can recognize mistakes and translate that into our modern life.
The fifth and final reason which stuck out to me was that studying history is essential for good citizenship. This stuck out to me because it is the ultimate reason behind studying history. This identifies with all of the other reasons. Studying history helps one be a good citizen because it ultimately provides the foundation of a well-rounded person. It provides a person with the knowledge to abolish ignorance and mistakes with a sense of wisdom from the past. History can make people from all sects of society well-rounded and knowledgable which ultimately unites us all and that is the ultimate reason why history is so significant.
I have always thought that learning history was significant so today's lesson and article probably promoted this idea. History is essential in understanding the present.

History is important because, it shows what happend in the past, and what event happend while you werent born. For example if you were born in 2005, and then when you get older you read about all the events that happend like 911. Its also important because you get to read about how the world was like in the past. You can learn from the past history so, you wouldnt make the mistakes that they did in the furture. History is important because your learning and getting smarter from reading the history. History is important because it will help us understand the past.

At first, I didnt find history was important, but now reading this article, and learning about it in class changed my whole perpective, now I think that history is important, because you're learning from the past, and that you're learning about how it was like in the past.
